Leafy Lantern

in , by Ellen Sharpe, November 09, 2008
Some incredible leaves fell from my Japanese maple and inspired a lantern project. Any leaves would work equally as well though.

Arrange leaves between two sheets of wax paper (wax facing in). Place a thin towel on top and iron on medium setting until paper wrinkles and bonds together. Trim the sheet to fit a glass, hurricane or candle holder. Use double sided tape along the top edge and bottom edge of the glass to attach the paper.

This project is fun for kids too, they can help collect the leaves and arrange them on the wax paper.
