Vintage Demi-Lune Desk

in , by Ellen Sharpe, September 15, 2011
Found a vintage Sligh-Lowry revival style desk from around 1960 to do over. The problem was I don't need a desk or have room for one.  I couldn't pass it up though, I really liked the shape and the hardware.  It also had so much versatility being that the round side
of the desk was finished so I saw so much potential for a possible sideboard or a desk or an entry table.  The style was versatile as well, painted in my favorite gray this piece would look sharp and clean and fit as easily into traditional styles as it would with modern organic design styles.

The project went like this, removed hardware, light sanding, spray primer and then 3 coats of low-lustre oil based paint in Galveston Gray by Benjamin Moore.

I planned to sell this but then it found a home in my small front entryway, it's going to be hard to make any money at this if I keep all my projects *sigh*.
